Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Vallarta

St. Patrick’s Day is a day to dress in Green, go out to find good luck, and celebrate with friends. Do you know why? Although this fiesta takes place all around the world, this religious celebration comes from lands far away, Ireland to be specific. In the fourth century, the Holy Patrician tried to convert the Celts to Catholicism. From this came several symbols of this celebration, among them:

Three-leaf clovers: The Holy Patriarch tried to explain the Holy Trinity using a 3-leaf clover. These clovers were already a symbol among the Celts, they considered them a sacred plant. So the 3-leaf clover was kept during this celebration.

The Lepreauchan: These are small beings that are dressed in green and carry in their hands 2 gold coins. Legend says they hide a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow, so if you see any of this grumpy goblins, you must follow it to find the treasure. These characters are also in charge of pinching you if you do not go to the celebration dressed in green, so if you do not like to be pinched, prepare your green clothes.

The color green: This color symbolizes Ireland, best known as the Emerald Island. It is the main color of this celebration, even used in drinks and snacks. So do not be surprised if you see green beer or cocktails.

If you want to celebrate this fun tradition, we invite you on March 17 to Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill, where you will be able to enjoy their St. Patrick Celebration Pool Party, a fun party in the exclusive infinity pool with colored drinks, delicious snacks, music, and of course the best company in Puerto Vallarta.
