The beauty of Puerto Vallarta has been recognized by tourists from all over the world for decades. This is one of the numerous reason why the Ministry of Culture of the state of Jalisco has honored the Historic City Center with the status of: Cultural Heritage of Jalisco.
The city still has the touch of the small Mexican villiage of yesteryear and it's kept the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe impeccable. With its cobblestone streets, the Malecon with its open-air art gallery, the cultural murals on the walls of its streets, the charming homes with terracotta roofs and adobe walls are some of the things you can find in the Historic City Center of Puerto Vallarta. These elements form part of our invaluable historical and architectural heritage, which has given Puerto Vallarta the title of Cultural Heritage of Jalisco.
If we add that PV is a city with a pleasant year-round climate, a safe place with tons of outdoor activities and the beauty of the jungle and the mountains; Puerto Vallarta is truly a noteworthy tropical paradise on the Mexican Pacific Coast.
This year, Puerto Vallarta celebrated it's 100th anniversary as a municipality and there is not a better gift than to also receive this status as a Cultural Hertitage Site. This title carries with it the significance that, from the month of July 2018, the month the status was granted, Puerto Vallarta is obliged to preserve these famous and cultural attributes. These elements are obviously an attraction for those who still have not visited this gorgeous beach destination in Mexico.
"The Historic Center of Puerto Vallarta is the heart of our city and one of the main attractions for our visitors. Like all the historical sites in the world, it must be recognized as an irreplaceable part of our legacy," said Javier Aranda Pedrero, director of the Tourism Trust of Puerto Vallarta in a media interview. "We applaud the actions taken by the Secretary of Culture of the State of Jalisco and invite everyone to enjoy this iconic part of the city."
We applaud, thank and encourage you to continue conserving the magic of this Mexican beach destination that is favored by the national and foreign LGBT community alike.
